But I love their style.

Now that you point it out, I can see a connection between the two films - heading right over to your post!Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-26662133639650461642014-05-25T21:35:41.098+02:002014-05-25T21:35:41.098+02:00I'm not a huge fan of Fellini. I had to watch 8½ for a class and I can't say I enjoyed it, which is a bit weird because I love David Lynch, and even weirder because I found that this particular film actually has a similar plot to Inland Empire:

http://hitchcocksworld.blogspot.ca/2014/03/david-lynchs-inland-empire-vs-federico.html

Of course, then again I suppose my knowledge on Italian cinema is extremely limited unless you include Sergio Leone.John Hitchcockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13373653979400552490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-58440372792164151772014-05-17T21:17:24.164+02:002014-05-17T21:17:24.164+02:00Haha, no problem. Love La Dolce Vita too!Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-38326280569222648442014-05-17T21:16:28.493+02:002014-05-17T21:16:28.493+02:00It really is, there is so much interesting and uni...It really is, there is so much interesting and unique stuff going on. I think it's one of those movies that get better every time you watch it. My favorite Fellini is La Strada but actually all of the three I've seen are incredibly good.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-78029461326915855702014-05-17T21:15:27.726+02:002014-05-17T21:15:27.726+02:00Even I don't think I fully understood everythi...Even I don't think I fully understood everything, it's very complex. Agree the dialogue is really strong in 8½Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-55118826815614065632014-05-15T23:56:34.963+02:002014-05-15T23:56:34.963+02:00Indeed, there's quite a bit of abstract image...Indeed, there's quite a bit of abstract imagery. Been a few years since I saw 8½, the final scene is interesting, someone told me it's about rebirth(water/the ocean is a symbol of that), which offers a way to start over on a new path. But maybe Marcello is too old and too far gone for that, so he could be interpreted as a tragic character. Or perhaps he's got it all. Depends how you perceive his life.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-66156576212628297212014-05-15T23:16:29.690+02:002014-05-15T23:16:29.690+02:00One of my all-time favorite films ever and I think...One of my all-time favorite films ever and I think it's my third/fourth favorite film by Fellini as it's definitely a film that every film buff needs to see.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-16213952070113799412014-05-15T22:59:57.631+02:002014-05-15T22:59:57.631+02:00This was my first Fellini, I LOVED it but I don...This was my first Fellini, I LOVED it but I don't think I really understood it.
