And I'll share your comment on the facebook page as well. Soooo....

Thank you for all the positive remarks, like all other podcasters we appreciate back-patting :)
I'm glad to hear you agree on Les Mis and the Gatsby-issue. Please do check out the movie and tell us what you think. The CGI didn't look very bad in 3D but perhaps it didn't work out in 2D.

I agree on giving the Oscar to Amy... Anne truly deserved it, but it was a typical "Oscar-worthy" performance whereas Amy's was more subtle and worked just as well.

Do watch Kahaani! 2012 had some pretty cool movies, as well as some mediocre ones... Kahaani was one of the best. Of course I mean Indian movies ;). I don't want to be the person who talks about Indian movies all the time, because few people follow them, so it makes me very happy that you want to watch a movie I talked about. (And Nikhat talked about).

Nikh's voice is fun :) I'm a bit jealous of her accent and stuff, Hindi is just such a melodious language and German isn't. Haha, I've heard that I sound like a stoner when I talk English before. I guess it's because I try to seem all relaxed and chilled-out so I have time to think of the right words :) Good thing you like it though.

I've read Gatsby by now and yeah, Jordan's role was lessened. That was one of the few changes, sadly.

Again: thanks a ton, Teddy. We hope you'll stay tuned :DMettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-65030687819115256722013-05-31T19:47:40.674+02:002013-05-31T19:47:40.674+02:00Thank you SO much for your wonderful comment, Tedd...Thank you SO much for your wonderful comment, Teddy! This really made my day!!
We're going to read it on air in the next episode and then answer you, so that Sofia and Nikh can say something too :) Next episode should be out next wednesday, so you don't have to wait too long.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-47095659702627404192013-05-31T01:53:32.625+02:002013-05-31T01:53:32.625+02:00This is my first time following your podcast and I...This is my first time following your podcast and I loved it! You girls have chemistry, whatever that means. Some thoughts:
_I loved Sofia's line (paraphrasing here) "Criticizing Les Miserables for having too many songs is like criticizing a comedy for having too many jokes." This is the perfect way to put it. Those kind of criticisms are invalid.
The same rule can then apply to a Baz Luhrmann film if you criticize its style for being too excessive while having prior knowledge of how Luhrmann operates. Well, what did you expect?
Oh and this is not directed towards Sofia who pointed out that she didn't mind the excess just the visuals. By the way, I haven't seen the film, but the CGI in the film clips on YouTube looked bad.

_I don't like Anne anymore. She seems too prissy and put together. Like she's perfect and a bit too goody-two-shoes. That being said I did love her performance in Les Mis. It was a bit mechanical, but I found it to be effective at the very least. In hindsight, I would have given the Oscar to Amy though.

_I want to watch Kahaani so bad! I need to brush up on Indian movies.

_I love Nikhat's accent and voice. It's a bit sing song-y.

_Mette, you sound like a stoner in some parts. This is not meant to be offensive. I love it. It's funny.

_Kirsten Dunst as Daisy would have been perfect! Watch her in The Cat's Meow, a movie also set in the 20s. She fits the style and certainly has the acting chops.

_I'm disappointed to hear that Jordan's role was lessened in the film. Especially since by viewing the clips Elizabeth seems to do such a wonderful job with one of my fave characters from the book.

_Amazing podcast. You had generally varied viewpoints which helped. And, also the performances, Leo's the best, second is Edgerton. Was a bit disappointed with Mulligan, but again her role was supposed to be like that.Andinahttp://www.inspired-ground.comnoreply@blogger.com
