I'll be focusing on either good, or in another way interesting films instead of watching my way through a dull gray mass. Of course, one can't avoid bad films, and it's healthy to watch some of them once in a while, but too much can make you tired.
And I'm also focusing on the films from now on, meaning there's not really one film industry I put higher than others, they're all different but have the same "value".

Btw, interesting article, it kind of put things in perspective.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-19207476611030341942011-08-30T18:51:39.124+02:002011-08-30T18:51:39.124+02:00I was also confused about the third brother, so lo...I was also confused about the third brother, so looks like its not just me !

I agree, we are probably meant to reflect on ourselves and our life, our childhood, family, etc.

I guess we'll be seeing some more non-Indian reviews here in future ?

Regarding your comments on sean penn as grown up jack, take a look at this article, where penn is quoted:

http://incontention.com/2011/08/21/sean-penn-bitch-slaps-tree-of-life/Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-33643193708806947172011-08-29T21:38:42.433+02:002011-08-29T21:38:42.433+02:00Bonjour Tristesse:

I'm not sure what to call the film, maybe it's a masterpiece, but only a "small" one?Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-7973265758552670362011-08-29T16:02:10.592+02:002011-08-29T16:02:10.592+02:00This was an excellent review. I can tell it made a huge impression on you.

My favorite aspect about this film is how it is able to make us relate to Jack despite how different from him we may be.

You do bring up a good point about the number of children. I couldn't figure out why there was a third brother who was almost totally ignored in the narrative. These little flaws in the editing and story are what prevent me from calling it a masterpiece.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00597866901901238462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-16626431686796399762011-08-28T12:28:26.802+02:002011-08-28T12:28:26.802+02:00@ Stevee: Haha, I'm also glad that me and my s...@ Stevee: Haha, I'm also glad that me and my sister weren't the only stupid ones.
So true, it's a very special film.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-219108510988412397.post-19542856650050306422011-08-28T09:35:51.793+02:002011-08-28T09:35:51.793+02:00I agree with pretty much everything you've sai...I agree with pretty much everything you've said, here.
