  1. You've summed up some of the many reasons why In the Mood for Love is one of my favourite films. So glad to see such a high rating for it, too!

    1. I thought I had rented the film without ever having heard of it, but now that I think about it, I remember it was in your Top 100 list... I guess my sub-conscience told me when I stood in front of the shelves. And I'm unbelievably happy that I watched it.

Sometimes, I have this feeling that films in general are bad - and off course they are. Most books are bad, most art is bad. But you can't give up on something just because of that, and I'm glad that this film revived my passion for film art.

  2. I just watched this film a few weeks ago for the first time, and it's just stunning. I'm writing my post for next week, and it's been hard to summarize just how great and magical it is. A true revelation and likely on my top 10 of the 2000s if I created a new list.

    1. That's wonderful, I'm looking forward to your post. If only I wouldn't feel so lost just at the thought of writing a review on a film like this one.

  3. All those Asian faces kind of confused me if I'm honest ( : But there is a dialogue scene somewhere in the movie I really love.

Wonderful screenshots you found Mette. A memorable screenshot for me from In the mood for love, I added in my Lost In translation review

    1. By the time you get used to asian movies, when you've seen many of them, you will notice how easily you can distinguish between the different actors.
I remember my first Bollywood film, and how I just thought: They all look the same!

Even though, or maybe because (?) there is little dialogue, I love every single line. And every single frame. I looked up your Lost in Translation review - the screenshot is beautiful. It's quite famous too, I think. At the moment, I'm quite interested in Asian films other than Indian ones, and films situated in Asia, so maybe it's finally time for me to watch Lost in Translation.
