[16] The Upcoming Adult Presents: 18 Female Movie Crushes

The two last lists before my life retrospect are going to be shallow. But in a way they're also going to be the most profound lists in this blogathon.
What makes us fall in love with a movie character (not to be mixed up with the actor him/ herself)? It's both the looks and the writing - but mainly, it's the acting, isn't it? The actors bring their looks, and their talent, and they become the perfect vessel for our dreams and expectations to both ourselves and other people. A movie character, just like a character in a book or a song, can be everything you want - perfect - in contrary to real people (and actors, as we should remember).

Although I'm neither a dude nor homosexually orientated, I have often fallen in love with female characters in movies, and it was really hard to choose only 18 of them - I could've chosen about 180. But here they are, 18 of my female movie crushes in no particular order...

The Tree of Life, Jessica Chastain
Not only one of the most beautiful mother figures but also one of the most sensual characters in any movie I've seen.

Jane Eyre, Mia Wasikowska
Her breathtaking beauty even made me forget about my antipathy to middle partings.

La Dolce Vita, Anita Ekberg
Having seen the images a thousand times and expecting a boring cliché scene, I was taken aback by Sylvia's actual attractiveness.

Devdas, Madhuri Dixit
Not only a nice contrast to weep-face Paro, but a strong and self-contious, beautiful... courtesan. I hope I'm morally allowed to be in love with her.

Vicky Christina Barcelona, Rebecca Hall
With everyone doting on Johansson and Cruz in this one, I often feel that the wonderful Rebecca Hall as Vicky gets overlooked.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Juliette Lewis
There was something so sweet yet so desirable about Becky! Perhaps the colour of her lipstick?

The Lord of the Rings, Liv Tyler
I've always been fascinated by elf-ish people...

Atonement, Keira Knightley
Isn't it interesting how often your favourite movies are the ones whose main actors are attractive to you?

Ballet Shoes, Emma Watson
I was going to choose Hermione but any Emma Watson movie so far would do. Pauline had a Marilyn Monroe-ish character that was just... enchanting!

Salaam Namaste, Preity Zinta
Preity used to be my favourite actress for some years and I had a little obsession about this character here. Even wanted to change my name to Ambar.

Black Swan, Mila Kunis
I was very close to choosing Natalie Portman here but Lily is just the sexiest character in this movie.

Ishqiya, Vidya Balan
Finally a rather dark Indian female character - and so sexy!

Little Big Man, Faye Dunaway
Literally everything about this character fascinates me - the way she talks and walks and... everything!

Asoka, Kareena Kapoor
Kareena often played very b*tchy characters back when this one came out, but Asoka was a welcome exception.

Eyes Wide Shut, Nicole Kidman
This movie has been featured a lot in the previous lists and Alice is one of my favourite things about it.

Daydream Nation, Kat Dennings
Kat Dennings is so adorable - very natural and dreamy, especially in this movie.

Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey Hepburn
Holly... I've always loved Holly, even without knowing. And without having seen the movie.

Titanic, Kate Winslet
And finally one of my favourite actresses playing one of the most attractive characters I know.

What are some of your favourite female movie crushes?

    1. Love her hair in the movie too (in the first part) - but that dress does deserve all the attention it's getting!

  4. Chandramukhi.... oh my. I am already in love with her. My favouite fictional character ever for sure :D However I absolutely hated Mia as Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre for me is like a Bible, and I will forever consider Zeffireli´s version the best, most accurate. And blonde/ligh-haired Jane Eyre like Mia is jsut a blasphemy. Her Jane was nothing like the Jane I love from the book :/

    1. About Chandramukhi - I know! I mean, Paro is pretty but not sexy as Chandramukhi.
I haven't read the Jane Eyre book, but Mia is ginger in the movie... I'll make sure to watch the Zeffireli version though, so I can compare.
