Freestyle filmic poetry

Remember the time I tried out filmic poetry in form of Haikus?
I hope you're ready for more, this time un-restricted... almost. There's a special rhyme pattern I'm sticking too, but otherwise I'll just write what pops into my mind.

Thor

„A nordic tale in Hollywood is told,
but no, it didn't
turn plumb in to gold
There was a lot of special-effects goin' on
so at least - I didn't yawn“

Another Year

„Crazy shoot;
we've the same ol' apron at home!
Anyway, the film was cute
Very much psychological
 - better that than ornithological“

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

„Spicy in many ways,
this Spain+India combination
is certainly an ace
I'm singin' SeƱorita all day long
don't care that Abhay got the notes all wrong“

Golmaal: Fun Unlimited

„ "Fun Unlimited"
is a big promise to keep
And as expected this was pretty much sh**
Don't see what's funny about handicaps
And don't care that Ajay Devgn's got trained abs“

El laberinto del fauno

„Forget about Tim Burton
this is what magic looks like
Oscars deserved for certain!
Also I found it quite scary
and of course loved it very“

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. I absolutely love Pan's Labyrinth.
The first new Golmaal wasn't bad, but they should have stopped at that. All the sequels are just awful.
    Love Abhay Deol!

    1. I didn't like Golmaal at all... there are worse films, but still. Definitely not going to watch the sequels!

      Abhay is so cute!

  2. I love these poems, and what you've done with the photos! I definitely enjoyed Thor (not as much as The Avengers), Another Year and Pan's Labyrinth.

    1. Me too...
I only watched Thor to be prepared for The Avengers (probably going to wait for the DVD), and I'll check out Captain America and Iron Man too.
      Thanks for commenting, Stevee.

  4. Mette, I'm going to have to demand you rewrite the Thor poem to include mention of the thing most talked about in regard to that film: this shirtlessness and, to paraphrase NPR, "the way he wore those jeans."

I'm much more a RDJ girl myself, but I found the endless talk of that SO amusing.

    1. Haha, good idea - but I guess you'll have to live with the one I wrote already.

But actually, although I normally don't like too muscular men, I think Chris Hemsworth (?) was one of the good exceptions.

  5. I love what you've done with the photos Mette. Really want to see Another Year - it has been on my to-see list for far too long.

    1. Thanks Dan, people liked it when I did it in the first post, so I thought I'd continue.
Another Year is recommended, although you might be tempted to close your eyes and fall asleep because... I don't know, I just felt so at home watching it.
